Magazine, Newspaper and Journal Articles: Access to over 4 million articles is available via the library's Articles and Databases link. Most of these databases contain full-text articles and cover a wide variety of subjects. Articles can be printed or emailed (and in some cases, downloaded). Books: More than 70,000 books (and other materials) are housed in
our collection which can be searched through the Library Catalog. Registered Shasta College Distance Education students may have titles sent to the Red
Bluff, Burney, Weaverville, or HSUC sites by using the Request
Library Materials link. Often, you will receive books the next day. (Students taking online classes from outside the Northern California area should contact library staff directly to help locate materials.)
Online eBooks: Over 24,000 electronic books are available 24/7 through the

Videos/DVDs: More than 4,800 videos and DVDs are housed in our
collection, searchable online via the Library Catalog. Internet Resources: Although the Internet contains vast amounts of good information,
numerous Web sites are unreliable. Fortunately, many excellent guides and

Online Access: Most Library resources are available online 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week.
Interlibrary Loan: (ILL) is a service for acquiring materials
not owned by the Shasta College Library. Typically there is no cost for this
service, however, it often takes up to three weeks to receive your requested
items. Get materials by completing an ILL Request. Be
sure to note your location at the Main Campus, Burney, Red Bluff, Weaverville, or HSUC sites in
order for us to process your request. (Students taking online classes from outside the Tri-county area should contact library staff to help locate materials.)
Reference Desk Assistance: Reference Staff is always available to assist with research
and other questions during open library hours.

Request an item and have it sent to a Distance Education site. To qualify for this service, you must be enrolled in a Distance Education class. NOTE: Material can only be sent to the Tehama, Trinity, Intermountain, or HSUC sites. You may Request Library Materials online or call circulation staff at 242-7550 for assistance.
